OMG!

Well okay, all I can say is OMG!!! I have been so bad since Thanksgiving.  I have not eaten right at all and I am soooo mad at myself.  I haven't gained any weight, but no loss either.  I was trying to diet and stress is always there so of course I ate because I am so tired and motivation is not there.  But tomorrow I am going to try to wake up early so I can make my eggs with tortilla and bacon.  I want to be skinny so bad, it hurts, but the motivation I lack so much.  There has been a lot of stress with my hubby's company.  Me and him are trying to start it up ourselves after his original boss sorta stopped giving him work and now we have a lot of work we have gone out and gotten ourselves, but there still is the stress of setting it up all ourselves legally and making sure permits and codes and blah blah are right.  He use to be a subcontractor for one company, but then it slowed down so much and he wasn't getting paid we had to do a mortgage modification and borrow some money and so on.  Now things are looking up but on top of my job already working full time and trying to help with our own invoicing, estimates, etc.  Its been hard to care about the diet part, which I so desperately am trying to do.  This is one of the reason's I haven't been blogging much.  I have just been posting positive comments on all of the sisterhood blogger's because every one has been doing so great.

  1. Well, your desire will be what continues to drive you forward. I suggest that you sit down one evening and look at what you realistically can do to make it work...plan for success. Do you work at home, or away? I know you can do this, you just need to figure out how to make it work with your situation. Once you figure that out it will be much easier. I'm glad to see you posting again. Are you planning on posting your food each day? That might help you as well. I know accountability is a huge motivation for me.

  2. I leave for work by 5:15am and I have no time to cook, eggs & bacon. Instead I make my coffee, add cream, while doing this I throw a piece of Alvarado bread in the toaster, and put 2 tbs. of Almond butter on it. Eat and drink on the way to work. It's fast and BFC approved. You need to plan a little and make things simple. Good luck with your new business, and mainly stay away from soda's, sugar, and eat fresh as much as possible.

  4. I work at home and in an office (in response to Minichick). I work for my father's business Mon-Fri. (9-5). Then when I get home most nights, I have just the regular relaxing night. But sometimes, I need to go to Home Depot or such a store to do estimates with my hubby to estimate an upcoming job or I might have to do invoicing that night or during the weekend. He works very very hard so I am not complaining, its just we are on the run so much that food planning sometimes is harder. But I am trying really hard to attempt this, because I am dying to be skinny and not this fat blob anymore. So far today I have eaten a wheat tortilla with shredded cheese, and 3 pieces of turkey bacon. :)

  5. Thank you Kasey, I will try to find something quick like that because most days I am trying to run out the door like you. And thank you Rosalie! I am trying to focus. :)

  6. Here are some quick ideas that I hope will help, if nothing else, to at least give you some ideas that will work for you.

Any of these foods you can put in an insulated lunch bag so that you can have it with you when you're on the go and don't want to be tempted to grab fast food. All of it can be prepared the night before so that you can just grab it out of the fridge when you need to go.

*boiled eggs that have already been peeled

*celery with peanut butter or cream cheese

*egg "muffins" (can be stored in the fridge for 2-3 days) http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Sausage-Egg-Muffins/Detail.aspx . Here is another recipe for egg "muffins":
•1-10 ounce package of defrosted, chopped spinach
    •3 eggs
•3/4 cup shredded reduced fat cheese
•1/4 cup diced green bell peppers
    •1/4 cup diced onions
•A few drops of hot sauce (optional)
Simply combine the ingredients and stir together, pouring evenly into 12 foil baking cups that have been prepared with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for twenty minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

On days when you have more time, such as the weekends, you can prepare eggs scrambled (or as you prefer them) with a side of sausage and bacon, or use them in a variety of dishes including omelets and frittatas, which incorporate healthy, low carb vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, spinach, asparagus, mushrooms, and onions.

*plain yogurt or cottage cheese, sweetened by you if desired, with low sugar berries

*protein shake (with our w/o peanut butter)

*breakfast burrito (scramble your eggs the night before and then put it in a low carb tortilla with some cheese in the morning and heat it up in the microwave...off you go)

Here are a few quick ideas that you don't need to prepare the night before:

*As Kasey already mentioned, toast with almond butter or peanut butter. I would also suggest grabbing a string cheese or two to up the protein.

    *cereal w/ almond milk

*also, don't forget, for any meal you can heat up leftovers.

Snacks to have with you while you're out. Some of these you can keep in your car for emergency situations:

    *string cheese

    *boiled and already peeled egg

*celery with peanut butter or cream cheese

    *low carb multigrain chips/crackers

*nuts/seeds (keep a couple of pre-measured bags in your glove compartment)

*Think Thin Bites (keep a box in your glove compartment)

Also, when you're out and about, you almost always can find a grocery store that has prepared salads or a salad bar at their food court. Go to the store and grab yourself a healthy salad and/or some low carb sides.

  8. You're so welcome! I want you to succeed. I know what you mean when you say that you want so badly to be thin again. I'm in the same camp as you...was thin as a child/teen, and gained weight as an adult. Although I did get back to my previous weight of 120 lbs., I only managed to stay there a year and now I'm determined to get back there and stay there this time around. I know from previous experience that success really does come down to priority and planning. You just have to do it if you want it. You just have to, it's that simple. I'll share any other ideas if I get them.
